Who we are:
Cru is a Christian community that is all about helping University of Illinois students discover and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We have weekly meetings, Bible studies, retreats, and parties all designed to help you grow closer to God and build relationships with each other.
We are a group of students who want to know God and be transformed by that relationship. We haven’t arrived, but we are on a journey.
It doesn’t matter what part of campus you are from or what part of the world you are from. Whether you’ve been hearing about Jesus all your life or you know nothing about Him, we would love for you to enter into the journey with us.
What we believe:
We are an interdenominational group of Christians who believe that Jesus is the Son of God, physically came to the earth, lived a perfect life, died for payment of sins, and rose again three days later. We also believe that the Bible is the word of God and is from which we derive all of our beliefs. The Bible is central to all we do at Cru, from Bible studies to teaching to discipleship. We are a chapter of Cru, an international movement, whose complete statement of faith can be found here.
What we do:
Lots of stuff, but you will want to start by checking out our weekly meeting. A couple hundred of us meet together on Thursday nights at 8:00 to enjoy worship and hear a talk on how to grow in our relationships with God. Join us at the ARC in Multi-Purpose room #6.
There are also community groups all across campus that provide a smaller environment where you can get to know people better and interact more about how the Bible relates to our lives today. Be sure to find one that is convenient for you on the Community Groups/Bible Studies page!
There are several staff who help resource Cru. If Scott or Hannah can’t answer your questions they will direct you to someone who can.
